that will likely be overlooked by most people.
That's
a big mistake!
Diamondback
is more widely known for their excellent line of road and
BMX bicycles. But they are not often assiciated with fitness
equipment, and elliptical trainers. After reviewing the
Diamondback 1100 EL elliptical trainer I think all
of that is about to change.
What
sets the Diamondback 1100 EL apart from other elliptical
trainers?
Here
are the highlights:
- MET'S
Profile System: At any given time, everyone has
a metabolic burn rate. If you are resting, for instance,
your metabolic rate is equal to 1. When actively exercising,
your metabolic rate will increase. The MET'S system will
allow you to pre-determine exactly how much power you
will put out over a given workout, and can be used as
an effective tool for pushing your fitness to higher levels.
- Heart
Rate Control: Polar Compatible heart rate programs,
with upper heart rate limit auto shut-off, graphic target
zone display, and 2 heart rate programs.
- Training
Programs: Manual mode with quick start option,
random program, and unlimited training profiles. Constant
Power levels, and 5 pre-programmed hill profiles (fatburner,
interval, strength, random and endurance) with 16 intensity
levels of resistance.
Enough
of the technical mumbo jumbo. So what do I think of the
Daimondback 1100 EL elliptical trainer?
It's
a great machine. It has a long 21" stride length not
found on lower priced ellipticals, one of the best display
panels I have seen and a nice warranty (lifetime frame,
1 year parts, motor and electronics with a one year labor
warranty).
The
only drawback on the Diamondback 1100 EL is that it is rather
expensive for most people on a budget. But the extra cost
of the machine gets you tons of useful workout workout programs,
a quality heart rate monitor and a strong warranty.
The
Diamondback 1100 EL elliptical trainer is considered
a light institutional model, so it should run for a long
time before you'll need any maintenance. It's also a nice
alternative to the high buck elliptical trainers such as
the models from Precor and Life Fitness.
