Proform
1280 Elliptical Review
The
Proform 1280 elliptical trainer is my pick as best elliptical
in the under $700 price range. The 1280 is miles ahead of
the other budget ellipticals from Proform including the
Proform
700, Proform
850 and the Proform
900.
Some
elliptical shoppers will make the mistake of overlooking
the Proform 1280 because it falls into the no mans land
of ellipticals in the $500-900 price range, where there
doesn't seem to be that many values.
If
you're looking for an elliptical in this price range, be
sure to put the Proform 1280 at the top of your shopping
list, here's why...
Three
of the key reasons I like the 1280 over any other elliptical
in this price range are:
1
- Power incline and ramp control: use the one touch
power ramp incline control to automatically change the incline
on the machine on the fly during your workout.
2
- iFit Technology with 2 included CD's that come
standard with a built in CD player right on the elliptical
console.
3
- 5 position pedals: adjustable pedals with reflex
step technology that provide a natural and more effective
workout than standard elliptical machines.
4
- 18" stride length: The stride length on the
1280 is a comfortable 18" and is manually adjustable
down to 15" for shorter users...
There's
a lot to like about the Proform 1280, but there is one drawback.
One
of the things common in this price range is a shorter warranty
- you'll have to jump up into the $1000 plus price range
to find anything more than a simple 90 day warranty, so
the Proform is only average in that respect.
I
wouldn't let the shorter warranty stop me from buying this
elliptical, as it matches or exceeds the warranty of every
machine in this price range, and surpasses all others in
benefits, features and design...
