the Proform Elliptical line. Its priced almost $200 for
than the Proform
700, and Proform
900 and about $150 less than the Proform
1280 Elliptical (best in class pick).
The
Proform 850 elliptical trainer suffers from the problem
of trying to be all things to all people.
First
it wants desperately to be a small, compact elliptical with
its fold up design, and falls short when it's not as stable
as other ellipticals in this competitive price range because
of the hinged design of the frame.
Making
an elliptical trainer this size foldable, is a solution
in search of a problem!
Let
me put it this way, if any of the budget elliptical trainers
(i.e. short stride length w/ small flywheel) are too large
for your space at home, forget about getting an elliptical
trainer altogether and opt for an upright
exercise bike instead, they have the smallest footprint
of any cardio equipment on the market.
If
the Proform 850 is on your shopping list, I would scratch
it off and consider replacing it with the Proform
1280 or the Reebok
645 instead.
