Smooth CE 3.2 Elliptical Trainer Review

The Smooth CE 3.2 Elliptical is the mid level Smooth elliptical machine and sits above the Smooth CE 2.1 elliptical and below the Smooth 7.4 elliptical in the model lineup... (compare to similar model Sole E75 elliptical and Sole E95 elliptical)

The Smooth CE 3.2 has several advantages over the base model (Smooth 2.1) that are worth noting, because although I like the 2.1 model a lot - the Smooth 3.2 is a worthy upgrade in many respects...

Both the Smooth 3.2 and 2.1 have a heavy duty flywheel, magnetic eddy-current break and ergonomic pivoting foot pedals, but the Smooth 3.2 adds a few more goodies to the mix.

Smooth CE 3.2 Elliptical Key Benefits and Specs:

  • Nine Programmable User Profiles
  • Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
  • Upgraded LCD Display w/ Dot Matrix
  • Electromagnetic Braking System
  • Heavy Gauge Oval Steel Frame
  • Nine Challenging Preset Programs
  • Sixteen Resistance Levels for forward and reverse motion
  • Tilt and Go Wheels for easy mobility
  • Ergonomic, Pivoting Foot Pedals
  • 300 Pound User Weight Capacity
  • Lifetime Frame and Electromagnetic Brake warranty

The three upgrades on the Smooth 3.2 that I really like (and quite frankly wouldn't do without) are:

1 - Nine programmable user profiles that allow you to set up different workouts and program the machine, so all you need to do when you hop on is push a button and start working out immediately.

2 - Wireless heart rate control strap that will measure your heart rate (much more accurate than pulse grip like cheaper machines) and adjust the intensity of the program to your fitness level

3 - Upgraded LCD display that makes tracking your progress and accessing the electronic package on the machine simpler more convenient.

If you're looking for an elliptical in this price range (or thinking about the Smooth 2.1) It's definitely worth a couple hundred bucks to upgrade to the Smooth 3.2 elliptical trainer.
