Schwinn
212 Exercise Bike
The
Schwinn 212 recumbent bike rest above the Schwinn
201, and Schwinn
203, and sits below the Schwinn
213 in their recumbent exercise bike lineup.
*The
Schwinn 212 recumbent exercise bike is the equivalent model
to the Schwinn
112 upright exercise bike. The review below was taken
from that model as they share over 90% of the parts.
When
you move up the Schwinn ladder away from the entry level
bikes (Schwinn 201
and 203),
you're getting better bang for your buck, and not having
to invest much more money than the budget models.
The
thing you'll notice first while inspecting the Schwinn 212
is the amount of adjustability of the seat and handle bars.
You may think that getting the additional adjustment options
isn't that big of a deal, until you start riding the bike
for prolonged periods of time (that's why you're getting
a bike in the first place, right?)

You'll
also notice that the pedal cranks, seat material and frame
materials have a higher quality level and there is more
heft to the entire package. The maximum user weight on the
Schwinn 212 is an ample 300 pounds.
I
like the Schwinn 212 recumbent bike a lot more than the lower
end Schwinn's for the better fit and finish, and the adjustability
factor. And almost came close to recommending it, but when
you compare it to the Schwinn
213, there is no contest in my mind...
