Schwinn
213 Exercise Bike
The
Schwinn Airdyne Exercise Bike is a complete departure
from the other Schwinn exercise bikes like the upright models
(101,
103,
112,
113)
and comparable recumbent models (201,
203,
212,
213).
Even
with all the bells and whistles of the more traditional
Schwinn exercise bikes, the Airdyne costs more and is more
basic in nature.
The
appeal of the Schwinn Airdyne is that unlike any other exercise
bike, the Airdyne incorporates a large multi-blade fan that
provides resistance, and lever arms that are synced up with
the pedals which provide a good upper bosy workout.

The
Airdyne comes in two flavors - the traditional Airdyne which
is a direct carryover based on the original model from the
1980's, and the new and improved Airdyne EVO.
The
newer Airdyne EVO version takes the original design and
makes some minor tweaks in the fan, and is also a much more
compact version of the original with a fan size of 30".
The
workout on an Airdyne effective when you use the arm levers,
although I wish there were some way to change the resistance
level on the machine.
If
you're in the market for a Schwinn Airdyne, I think the
new more compact EVO model is a better bet than the original.
There
is also a new competing model that's a couple hundred bucks
cheaper called the Keys Dual Action Airbike.
