Total Trainer Power Pro Review

My wife and I spent a long time searching for a strength training home gym to add to her studio that was compact, easy for clients to learn, wouldn't cost a small fortune and could hold up to daily punishment without missing a beat.

We found that gym in the form of the Total Trainer Power Pro from Bayou Fitness.

During our search we actually tested out 4 models from Bayou including the Total Trainer, Total Trainer DLX III, Total Trainer Pilates Pro and the aforementioned Power Pro.

So why did we end up keeping the Power Pro and not one of the cheaper Bayou gyms or low end Total Gyms (you know the ones on TV infomercials)?

The decision was easy once we put these gyms through their paces for a few weeks with various clients and tested them ourselves.

When we compared the Power Pro head to head with the cheaper Bayou gyms, and the more expensive Total Gyms, it was immediately apparent that the Power Pro was the perfect balance of price, well engineered components and versatility.

Here's the features that sealed the deal:

  • 12 Levels of Resistance
  • 500 Pound User Capacity
  • Maximum User Height 6' 8"
  • 14" x 48" Glide Board
  • Aluminum Monorail Design
  • Lift from 6% to 72% of Your Body Weight
  • Oversized Castors for Easy Transport
  • Deluxe 2" Double Stitched Box Cushion

The Power Pro also comes with a complete set of attachments and accessories that include an ab strap, chrome weight post for adding free weights, a pull-up and push-up bar, training DVD and instruction manual with four workout programs.

What really sealed the deal was the fact that the Power Pro came fully assembled and was a snap to start using, which you'll appreciate if you've ever wasted an entire evening or two trying in vein to assemble one of those home gyms with 300 bolts and 15 pulleys (been there, done that).

If you're looking for a compact, versatile home gym for strength training that won't break the bank, I highly recommend the Total Trainer Power Pro - it's easily the best home gym I've found in this price range.
