Universal
Corner Gym
The
Universal Corner Gym is a good design, but I feel
it falls short in a couple key areas in this price range.
The
big shortcoming of the Universal Corner Gym is the
weight stack. It's only 150 pounds. That just won't cut
it for long, especially using the leg press station. In
comparison the Weider 9600 gym offers up to 400 pounds
of resistance.
The
other draw back on the Universal Corner Gym is the
pec deck. Although it does have one, the action and smoothness
of the Weider 9600 is superior.
Enough
of the negative talk here. The Universal Corner Gym does
have some good points to. The biggest draw of this gym
is its' unique corner design. It will tuck into a small
space and not dominate an entire room. That's a great feature
if you're tight on space.
The
frame on the Universal is also solid and is made
from 2" x 3" steel. You also get a full workout
chart and exercise diagrams to show you how to perform each
lift corrctly.
The
Universal Corner Gym is also about $100 bucks cheaper
than the Weider 9600. I would opt for the Weider if given
the choice, but if you just can't stretch your money any
farther the Universal Corner Gym isn't a bad choice for
the money.
