Weider
16.6 ST Home Gym
The
Weider 16.6 ST home gym is very similar to the now discontinued
Weider 9600 home gym. As far as budget home gyms
are concerned, the Weider 16.6 is about as good as you'll
do in this price range, especially if you're looking for
a raditional home gym as opposed to a cable type gym like
the Crosbow or Bowflex.
While
both the Weider 16.6 offers a nice variety of strength
training exercises, with a assisted chin and dip station
for doing pull-ups and dips.
It
also has two individual weight stacks (2) 212 lbs, with
the ability for two individuals to workout at the same time.
There
are a number of exercises you can perform on the 16.6, and
it will give you a good full body workout if you use it
as you should. However, I would like to point out the fact
that a budget 'universal' type gym will not be a good fit
for every user and women may find it rather unfriendly.
What
you gain in a lower price tag, you give up in some ergonomic
functions and adjustability.
One
last note about the Weider 16.6 Home Gym, it has
a rather large footprint of (12' x 10') but on the plus
side, it will fit in a corner. If you're looking for a more
compact (and better) gym in this price range, I like the
Body
Solid 1500 much better.
The
bottom line? If you're considering purchasing the Weider
16.6 ST Home Gym, I would consider it only if you're
a beginner on a limited budget that doesn't expect health
club quality in a budget home gym...
