Body
Solid Smith Machine
If
you read my review of the Parabody
Smith Machine, you'll know that I didn't buy the Body
Solid Smith Machine - to find out why, keep reading for
details...
When
I was shopping for my smith machine, my short list came
down to the Hoist
Smith Machine, Parabody
Smith Machine and the Body Solid Smith Machine.
I
really wanted the Hoist smith, but once I showed the machine
to my wife and told her the price, that was no longer an
option (that was a sad day for me, but I understood).
Now
that the Hoist was off the list, my choice was narrowed
down to the Parabody and the Body Solid.
One
thing you'll notice right away, is the Body Solid and Parabody
smith machines are very, very similar. They both have:
- 7
degree linear ball bearing smith carriage system
- small
compact design
- built-in
Olympic weight holders
- 200
pound selectorized weight stack with low row
- multi-position
front gun rack for free weight training
- high
quality adjustable bench with optional leg developer
The
one area where the Body Solid surpasses the Parabody is,
the Body Solid has a pec deck built into the back side of
the cage. It's a nice option that's sure to get plenty of
use by most users.
So
why did I buy the Parabody instead of the Body Solid Smith
Machine if they're so similar?
The
reason is, I was able to find a floor model Parabody locally
(they only sell Parabody to local markets) that saved me
about $700 bucks compared to a new machine from either manufacturer.
If
I were to buy a smith machine all over again, I would most
likely end up with the Body Solid Smith Machine because
you can get one online and have it delivered right to your
door...
