Proform
Crosswalk 525 Treadmill
The
most unique feature of the Proform Crosswalk 525 Treadmill
is the dual action arms. What the arms do is to convert
a standard treadmill into a hybrid. If a treadmill and elliptical
trainer had kids, this is what the offspring would look
like.
I'm
not going to go into great detail here about the Crosswalk
525. It's similar to the Proform 995 SEL in price ($799),
but you give up alot of nice features to get those dual
action arms.
Here
is what you're missing out on (compared
to the Proform 995) to get those handles:
- over
200 sqaure inches of deck space - that may not sound like
much but the deck on the Crosswalk is only 50"
long (55" on the 995) which makes it unsuitable for
running.
- quick
speed deck adjustment
- superior
cuchioning of the Proform 995
- and
2 workout programs
With
all that being said, is the Proform Crosswalk 525 a ripoff
for the money?
That
depends on how you look at it. If you must have the
dual action arms, then the Crosswalk is the best machine
in it's price range. If you can live without the dual action
arms (you can) get a Proform
995 SEL and a 5 dollar pair of dumbbells, which effectively
accomplish the same thing as the dual action handles plus
you get all the extra features!..
