Smooth 9.17 Treadmill is the best selling Smooth
treadmill on the market and is a nice step up from the Smooth
7.1 because it adds some valuable features above and beyond
the 7.1, for just a couple hundred bucks.
For
starters, the Smooth 9.17 has a wider base which makes it
extremely stable for running - the downside to the stability
is it doesn't have smallest footprint or 'live area' when
its' in use, but the Smooth 9.17 treadmill makes up for
this fact in spades with an exclusive power folding mechanism
you won't find on a competing treadmill at any price.
Two
key upgrades to the Smooth 9.17 are the orthopedic belt
(great for those of you with sore or tender knees) and Smooth's
exclusive 'Impression Shock Absorption' technology (helps
keep your knees and ankles for getting sore in the first
place).

Smooth 9.17hr Treadmill is a good bet in the under $2000
price range and will give any treadmill a run for it's money
and beat them, the exception may be the Sole
F85 Treadmill which has the Smooth beat on top speed,
but that should only come into play if you're a hard-core
runner.
You're
going to be hard pressed to find a better treadmill value
than the Smooth 9.17 for under $2000, and I think it's a
worthy upgrade from the Smooth
7.1hr Treadmill especially if you have knee or ankle
